Short History of Photography -

In the eleventh century Al-Hassan ibn al-Hayat, a prominent Iranian scientist, invented the first camera theory.  Although his camera was not used for photographing, it was used for viewing the solar eclipse.  Originally the camera was created by the basic technique of this camera.  Al Hasan ibn Al Hayat is called Father of Optics.

In 15th century, there was no use of the lens when the photo was taken with pinhole camera.  But in 1550, Xerolamo Kardamo introduced the Sharp photo using the first lens camera.

When the camera was photographed at that time, the study of light and shadow images was created inside the camera, and the research continued to be made about whether this image can be made permanent by photosensitive chemicals.

In 1826 French scientist Joseph Nisoforo discovered the use of a photocensitive chemical substance, which would later be possible to create a picture that was not lost in light.  But it was necessary to expose about eight hours to create a picture on this material.  That is, it was not possible to take photographs of things that were shaken by this.

In 1837, using Louis Iquique (France) Silver Iodide, it took 5 to 40 minutes to capture photos at exposure.

In 1839, Louis Jacques Dagay (France) and William Henry (England) used the term independently of the term photography.  Photography term comes from the Greek word 'photojones' and 'graffs'.  Photograph means the meaning of the word 'light' and the meaning of the photograph 'in the form of graphite'.

Originally, so far, the pictures were made on the metallic material, later on to the paper on whether to be photographed on paper, William Henry Fox of England and he was able to make paper negative and paper-positive photos from it.

On August 19, 1839, Arago officially explains photographic technology at that time by Dagoye, near France's Department of Science and Technology, France.  The Government of France purchases the copyright of this technology and exposes this technology to people all over the world.  This was a government and the first formal recognition of photography technology for the people of the world.  This day is being celebrated as the World Photographic Day World Photography Day.

In 1878, Charles Bennett made a film with the help of gelatin.  It is possible to take pictures of one-fifth of a second in this film.

In 1888, George Eastman of America introduced the first Kodak camera.  At that time, film production started on celluloid.

The emergence of digital photography

George Smyth and Willard Boyle, in the Bell Labs in a similar way, discovered a similar type of image sensor. In the 1970s, Smith and Boyle Cecidi used the first solid-state video cameras.

In 1986, Kodak's scientists were able to create an image sensor, which could give a picture of 1.4 megapixels.  A 57-inch good quality print would have been possible.  In 1987, Kodak Steel released seven types of electronic devices to record video images, store, manipulate, transmit and print.

In 1991, Kodak Nikon released the 1.3-megapixel image sensor in the camera and used to make professional digital camera systems (dcs marketed) for photojenalists.

Photography in Bangladesh

Mr. Manzur Alam Beg, established the Bangladesh Photographic Society (BPS) in 1960 in the Beagert Institute of Photography and Aubing in 1976.  For his outstanding contribution in the field of photography education and organizing photographers, the photographers of Bangladesh awarded him the title of Photographer.

Under the Social Welfare Department Youth Welfare Board, in 1964, the Photographic Training Center was started in Armanitola, Old Dhaka.  Outgoing photo journalist Golam Mawla taught here.
